Why is the recommended battery larger than my daily use?
The calculator allows for your selected days of autonomy and the safe usable depth of discharge for the battery chemistry.
Do solar and DC-DC amps add together?
Separate controllers can contribute independently. Combined solar/DC-DC chargers normally share one total battery-side output limit, so their maximum inputs should not simply be added together.
Why does inverter size depend on watts instead of Ah/day?
Inverters must handle instantaneous power. A high-wattage appliance may only run briefly and use modest daily energy, but it still requires sufficient inverter, BMS, cable and fuse capacity.
Are the fridge figures guaranteed?
No. Fridge consumption changes significantly with ambient temperature, ventilation, thermostat setting, loading and lid openings. Use the figures as planning estimates.
Can I install the recommended system myself?
That depends on the system and local requirements. High-current DC wiring and any fixed 230/240V work can present serious risks and may require qualified installation.
